Bible Memorization Reward - How Great is Our God Concert info

Those who completed the Bible memorization challenge are invited to come with us (for free) to Chris Tomlin’s How Great is Our God concert on February 10.
There will be an informational meeting about this for parents on Sunday. Please come to room 37 at 12:40 PM. You must also sign your child’s waiver form at this meeting.

There will be no lesson on Thanksgiving Friday; we will be having a potluck at Willowbrook. Please be there at 6:00 (come at 5:30 if necessary).
- Seniors, juniors, college+ bring main dishes for 4-6 people
- Freshmen and sophomores bring side dishes
- Junior high girls bring desserts
- Junior high boys bring two 2-liter bottles of any drink

Lesson October 27, 2006

Remember, we will be meeting at the Wu residence this week.
Also, remember to bring donations for Operation Christmas Child (in the form of money or small toys, etc. that will fit in a shoebox). We will wrap these gifts on November 3.
During the last week of October, please read Luke 6. Here are some general, basic guidelines for spending time in God’s Word.
Set aside some quiet time alone with God. Pray that God will open our minds to understand the Scriptures (Luke 24:45). Each section of Luke 6 contains very important lessons. After reading the chapter, pick one section at a time.
- What are key words or phrases that are repeated in the passage?
- What is this passage saying about God?
- What is this passage saying about Jesus?
- What do I learn about the Holy Spirit?
- Is there a command to obey?
- Is there a sin to confess?
- Does it point to something I can thank God for?
- Is there a principal to learn?
- Is the Scripture saying something about my life right now?
- Is there a prayer I can pray?
- How can I apply it in my everyday life?
- What did I learn about my own relationship to God?
- Is there a verse in particular that speaks to you? Memorize those verses.
- Thank God for His guidance.
It is useful to stick with a section that strikes you; read it over and over and live with it for a while.
Movie Night October 13, 2006

We will be watching a movie this Friday night, so please come at 8:00 PM in order to watch the entire thing. Pickup time will be later as well; arrange to be picked up at 10:30 PM.
As a fundraiser for the new church building, we will have a concession stand. If you want, you can bring some money to buy candy, etc. Prices range from 25 to 75 cents.
Please invite your friends to come this Friday!
On another note, we will start building our new church building at the old Living Water’s site next month! God has given us this exciting opportunity.
There will be a cleanup this Saturday, October 14 at Living Water. Feel free to come and help.
