We’ll be having another fun night this Friday!
You’ll still need your bibles to participate, unless you’ve memorized it all already ;)
Should you invite your friends to fellowship with us? Absolutely!
Also: Because of summer camp, there will be no FNF next week, August 3.
Lesson June 1, 2007
— Thursday May 31, 2007 by Admin
This week at FNF we will study Luke 22. God teaches us about the preparations for Passover, the Last Supper, Peter’s denial, the agonizing of Jesus Christ in the garden, the arrest of Jesus, and the condemnation of Jesus by the religious leaders.
Here is a short guide on how to read the Bible.
First, it is essential to pray: For example, you can ask God to “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law” (Psalm 119:18).
Check your attitude. Are we willing to receive God’s Word into our heart?
As you read God’s Word ask yourself:
- Is there a lesson to learn?
- Which verses speak to you?
- Is there a command to obey?
- Is there a sin to avoid?
- Is there a promise to claim and keep?
- What does this passage mean to me?
- What is God telling me?
- How does this apply to me? What will I do about it?
Memorize:
“Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” — Luke 22:42

A message from Mr. Wang:
Finished the essay yet? I hope you enjoyed last Friday’s movie. Personally, I like the movie a lot. I have been facing all kinds of giants in my life all the time. I even gave myself a quote: “small God, big giant; big God, small giant”.
This week we will continue studying the book of Luke. Please pray and ask God to reveal His messages/promises to you through Chapter 20. In Chapter 19, Jesus cleared the temple and damaged the business run by a group of religious leaders (chief priests, teachers of law and elders). This group of leaders wanted to get rid of Jesus, so they tried to trap Jesus with their questions.
First, they questioned Jesus’ authority to do these things (e.g. cleared temple). Can you find the trap behind this question? If Jesus would answer that his authority came from God, what could religious leader have done?
Then, Jesus told them a parable of the wicked tenants. Can you identify the characters in this story and what do they mean? Do you think Jesus answered their first question? yes or no and why?
The leaders thought their question: “Should we pay taxes to Caesar?” would surely trap Jesus. But… Where is the duplicity in this question? Can you identify them?
Reflect on Jesus’ answer “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”.
What does that really mean to you personally in your day to day school life?
Put down a list of things God has given to you that you feel grateful.
If there are such things that you as a junior high can give to God, what would that be?
Through the chapter 20, the religious group had a very hostile attitude toward Jesus. For us, we all need to ask ourselves what is my attitude toward Jesus?
Again, give a try of PSP (No, it is no play station portable. ;-) It’s pray, study, pray).
Lesson April 20, 2007

Mr. Chung will be our speaker this Friday! The topic will be spiritual warfare.
Lesson April 13, 2007
— Tuesday April 10, 2007 by Admin
This week, please continue reading Luke, chapters 17 and Luke 18. The themes of faith, prayer, forgiveness and humbleness are taught by Jesus. We will be splitting into small groups for preparation of skits. Each group will be assigned a passage to present to the rest of FNF. Please bring your Bibles and study these chapters this week.
Lesson April 6, 2007
— Monday April 2, 2007 by Admin
For this week, since we will meet on Good Friday, please read Luke chapter 23, an account of the death of Jesus on the cross. These events are also covered in Matthew 27, Mark 15 and John 19. The cross and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have paramount importance to Christians. On Friday, we will discuss what happened when Jesus died on the cross, its meaning and significance.
Bible Verse of the Week:
Luke 23:46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands i commit my spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last.
Lesson March 30, 2007
— Wednesday March 28, 2007 by Admin
We hope everyone enjoyed spring camp!
Mr. Cool will be teaching this Friday night.
We’ll be studying Luke Chapter 16 this Friday night.
This is a wonderful chapter to help us in handling money and possessions.
To get the most out of it, I want you read through this chapter a couple times, ask yourself the following questions and see if you can find the answers in this chapter:
- What does the word “shrewd” mean?
- Would you be proud if I tell you that you are very shrewd?
- Would you rather be shrewd or wise? Why?
- Is “serve” a transitive verb? With a direct object?
- Do we serve money or money serve us?
- Is it possible to serve money? Examples?
- Would you like to be a boss today that you can tell people what to do?
- Would you rather be rich or poor today?
- Is being rich always good? Is being poor always bad?
- Do you believe in heaven and hell? Why or why not?
- Is there a bridge between heaven and hell that you can go back and forth?
- Are you certain you are heading toward heaven?
For those who love challenges, I’ll offer you a special prize for memorizing the following 2 verses:
Luke 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You can not serve both God and Money.”
Luke 16:31 “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.”
Lesson March 9, 2007
— Tuesday March 6, 2007 by Admin
Luke Chapter 15 has 3 sections in which Jesus is talking to tax collectors, sinners, Pharisees and scribes. Through parables, God teaches us lessons and principles of life. The first part (verses 1-7) is the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Verse 7 tells us that there is joy in heaven when a person repents. The second part (verses 8-10) is the Parable of the Lost Coin. At that time, Palestinian women would receive 10 silver coins as a wedding gift. These valuable coins had sentimental values, like a wedding ring. Just as a woman would rejoice over finding a lost coin, angels will rejoice over a repentant sinner. The third section is the Parable of the Lost Son, verse 11-32, one of the most well-known of all the Parables. It has many important lessons for us. We encourage you to read over the parable of the Lost Son everyday, very carefully, this week. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in understanding what God is saying. What is the theme of these 3 parables?
Memory Verse of the Week: Luke 15:10
“In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
