Lesson November 17, 2006
— Sunday November 12, 2006 by Admin
Luke Chapter 8 continues to tell us of the ministry of Jesus: teaching, preaching and healing. Let’s pray that the Holy Spirit will help us understand the Scriptures and apply it to our lives.
On Friday, we will discuss some of the parables which Jesus taught. By using common objects and situations, the parables of Jesus contain spiritual meaning for those who seek to understand about the Kingdom of God. The parables compel us to discover the truth. For those who honestly are searching, the truth becomes clear. For the casual listener, the parables have no spiritual content. As you read Luke 8, ask yourself: What is Jesus saying to me?
Memorize:
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10
“But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.” — Luke 8:15
