Reflection of October 26, 2007

— Monday October 29, 2007 by Admyn

Hello all,
the website FNF is finally up after 2 months
wow that’s been a while
To start off, if you missed last friday, we studied the Beatitudes
or the Attitudes you Need to Be =D

Uncle Paul focused on the pure in spirit
to summarize, the pure in spirit…

The decisions one makes, the desires one has, the thoughts and intentions of thew ill, are untarnished by sin, and that the will is determined to be pleasing to God. From the pure of heart comes only good things, acts of love and mercy, desire for righteousness and jjustice, decisions that please God

and that was taken from Uncle Paul’s slideshow

Questions include
-What beatitudes do you think you need to work on?
-What beatitudes do you think you have and recognize?
-The beatitudes do NOT include Blessed are the Strong, and Blessed are the Rich, do you think you could live like that?

Lesson July 27, 2007

We’ll be having another fun night this Friday!

You’ll still need your bibles to participate, unless you’ve memorized it all already ;)

Should you invite your friends to fellowship with us? Absolutely!

Also: Because of summer camp, there will be no FNF next week, August 3.

Lesson June 1, 2007

— Thursday May 31, 2007 by Admin

This week at FNF we will study Luke 22. God teaches us about the preparations for Passover, the Last Supper, Peter’s denial, the agonizing of Jesus Christ in the garden, the arrest of Jesus, and the condemnation of Jesus by the religious leaders.

Here is a short guide on how to read the Bible.

First, it is essential to pray: For example, you can ask God to “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law” (Psalm 119:18).

Check your attitude. Are we willing to receive God’s Word into our heart?

As you read God’s Word ask yourself:

Memorize:
“Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” — Luke 22:42

Lesson May 11, 2007

— Thursday May 10, 2007 by Admin

A message from Mr. Wang:

Finished the essay yet? I hope you enjoyed last Friday’s movie. Personally, I like the movie a lot. I have been facing all kinds of giants in my life all the time. I even gave myself a quote: “small God, big giant; big God, small giant”.

This week we will continue studying the book of Luke. Please pray and ask God to reveal His messages/promises to you through Chapter 20. In Chapter 19, Jesus cleared the temple and damaged the business run by a group of religious leaders (chief priests, teachers of law and elders). This group of leaders wanted to get rid of Jesus, so they tried to trap Jesus with their questions.

First, they questioned Jesus’ authority to do these things (e.g. cleared temple). Can you find the trap behind this question? If Jesus would answer that his authority came from God, what could religious leader have done?

Then, Jesus told them a parable of the wicked tenants. Can you identify the characters in this story and what do they mean? Do you think Jesus answered their first question? yes or no and why?

The leaders thought their question: “Should we pay taxes to Caesar?” would surely trap Jesus. But… Where is the duplicity in this question? Can you identify them?

Reflect on Jesus’ answer “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”.

What does that really mean to you personally in your day to day school life?

Put down a list of things God has given to you that you feel grateful.

If there are such things that you as a junior high can give to God, what would that be?

Through the chapter 20, the religious group had a very hostile attitude toward Jesus. For us, we all need to ask ourselves what is my attitude toward Jesus?

Again, give a try of PSP (No, it is no play station portable. ;-) It’s pray, study, pray).
